1️⃣ Internal Casement
Rotates the handle 90 degrees to open.
✅ Pros: High safety, no worries about falling risks; a rubber strip around the window frame, combined with a thermal break strip, effectively improves sealing. It is also known in the industry as an equal-pressure rubber strip, offering better sealing and insulation compared to outward-opening windows.
❎ Cons: Occupies indoor space and is prone to collisions, especially in homes with children‼️
2️⃣ External Casement
Effectively solves the problem of indoor space occupation caused by internal casement windows. It has good waterproofing but lacks one rubber strip compared to internal casement windows, resulting in slightly inferior insulation and sealing. It is susceptible to mosquitoes when closing the window in the summer night. Not recommended for use above the 7th floor; additional anti-fall chains are needed below the 7th floor.
3️⃣ Awning
Commonly used in Residential and office buildings with a high anti-theft property. It is occasionally used in small spaces like kitchens and bathrooms. Its advantage is that it doesn’t occupy indoor space, and it allows ventilation on rainy days.
4️⃣ Sliding Window
The ventilation area of sliding windows can reach 50%, and it does not occupy indoor space. It is commonly used for sealing balconies in the living room. However, because sliding windows mostly use woolen strips for sealing, their insulation, sealing, and drainage are relatively less effective.
6️⃣ Drift Window
Similar to a sliding door on a car, it can slide open or inward. It has three seals, better sealing performance compared to sliding windows, and does not occupy indoor space like casement windows. However, this opening method is not very mature in terms of development. The technical complexity and high aftermarket rate make it challenging in terms of production, processing, installation, and debugging.
7️⃣ Double hung Window
A niche product in southern cities or single-story villas. It offers an expansive view, and the ventilation area can reach 50%. It has higher safety compared to casement windows. However, because lift windows are mostly electrically operated, the cost is relatively high.
8️⃣ Bi Folding Window
Can fully open to one or both sides, achieving a panoramic effect, and the ventilation area can reach 90%. However, its insulation and waterproofing effects are average, and the aftermarket rate for hardware is relatively high after prolonged use.
9️⃣ Tilt and Turn Window
The inward tilting method effectively solves the issues of space occupation and collisions associated with internal casement windows. In the tilted state, the handle cannot be rotated from the outside, providing a certain anti-theft function. Opening the window in the tilted state at night prevents direct wind and rain from entering.
