Builder Window & Door Supply Workflow Melbourne
JL Windows supports Melbourne builders with a project-based workflow from plans and energy requirements through quotation, specification approval, production, delivery and installation coordination.
1. Send the Current Project Documents
For an efficient first review, send the current architectural plans and elevations, window and door schedule, energy report where available, project address, required programme and whether the scope is supply only or supply and installation.

2. JL Reviews the Window & Door Package
JL reviews opening references, dimensions, configurations, frame system, glazing requirements and the project scope. Depending on the brief, suitable options may come from the Essential, Thermal or Thermal Plus product families.
3. Performance Requirements Are Matched to the Project
Where the project includes U-value or SHGC requirements, the proposed whole-window configuration should be checked against those requirements. Structural, air and water performance is reviewed separately from thermal performance.

4. Receive a Project-Based Quotation
The quotation identifies the proposed window and door package and the agreed commercial scope. Builders should review inclusions, exclusions, delivery or installation responsibilities and any assumptions before approval.
5. Confirm Before Manufacture
Before manufacture, confirm the current opening references, sizes, configurations, handing, frame system, glass, colour, hardware, screens and other project-specific details. If plans, schedules and energy documentation conflict, the discrepancy should be resolved by the appropriate project party before final approval.
6. Select the Appropriate Supply Path
Suitable projects may have access to JL’s approximately 4-week local production option. Broader custom packages commonly use an indicative 8–10 week planning allowance. Availability depends on system, materials, capacity and the confirmed specification.
7. Delivery & Installation Coordination
For supply-only work, the builder coordinates installation and surrounding construction. Where JL installation is included, site access, opening readiness, floor levels, drainage, flashing, structure, surrounding finishes and trade sequencing still need to be coordinated according to the agreed project scope.
Why This Workflow Matters
A window package connects architectural drawings, energy requirements, glazing, hardware, structural openings and site sequencing. A controlled approval process helps reduce avoidable discrepancies and late specification changes.
